📝 Instructions for Creating a Google Account

If you do not have a Google Account (which is needed to access your course materials securely), please follow these steps first. You can use any existing email address to create one, so you don't need to create a new Gmail address if you prefer to keep your current one.

Phase 1: Starting the Creation Process

Go to the Sign-Up Page: Open a new browser tab and go to the official Google Account creation page: accounts.google.com/signup
Choose Account Type: Click on "For my personal use."
Enter Your Name: Fill in your First Name and Last Name. Click "Next."
Enter Basic Info: Fill in your Date of Birth and Gender. Click "Next."

Phase 2: Choosing Your Sign-In Credentials

Choose Your Username/Email:
- Option A (Recommended): Google will suggest a new Gmail address (e.g., yourname123@gmail.com). If you like one, select it.
- Option B (Use Existing Email): If you want to use your current non-Google email (like Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) as your Google Account login, look for and click the link that says "Use my current email address instead." Enter your existing email there.
Create a Strong Password: Create a secure password that is at least 8 characters long and includes a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. Write this password down! Click "Next."

Phase 3: Verification and Finalizing

Add Recovery Info (Important!): Google will ask you to add a Recovery Email and optionally a Phone Number.
- Recovery Email: This is crucial. Enter a different, existing email address you check regularly. This is how Google helps you recover your password later.
- Phone Number: You may be able to Skip this step, but adding a number makes recovery much easier.
Review and Agree: Read through the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you agree, click "I agree."
